Climate is changing, natural disasters like earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions are increasing. What is the reason? After the Indian Ocean earthquake occurred on 26 December 2004, the author made the discovery of a connection between the December 2004 disaster and the Mayan End Date in December 2012. It is in December that the Sun crosses the area of the heavens where the Galactic Centre is placed, close to the ecliptic and the sting of the poisonus Scorpio constellation, the Mayans call the area the "Dark Rift". The book looks at the nature of the Galactic Centre and the role it plays in disasters of the past, and will play in coming years. The Galactic Centre is added to the astrological chart to show how it has been involved in past disasters and also can be used to predict future ones. Although the discovery is new, being first published in December 2008 but first available to the public in 2010, a number of its forecasts have proven correct.The earthquakes are certainly increasing. A number of them were predicted by the author based on this methodology, including the deadliest of the year 2010 in Haiti. In 2010 there were more earthquakes over magnitude 7 than had ever before been recorded. Also the volcanic eruptions are on the increase as is also here predicted.
